Dr Anushka Reddy | Scientific Chair

Graduated from Wits University in South Africa in 1997 and has been in the medical profession for 20 years, including fifteen years of cosmetic dermatology practice where she has performed more than 10 000 aesthetic procedures. She is the owner of Medi-Sculpt Clinic which specialises in non-surgical cosmetic treatments for the face and minimally invasive procedures for the body. She is also founding member and Scientific Chair of COSMEDICA, The Cosmetic Medicine Congress of SA, and the President of the South African Association of Cosmetic Doctors.

Dr Anjana Bhana | Aesthetic Dentist

Graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2005, taking the SADA Medal for leadership (for her role as Dental Student Council President as well as other leadership roles) as well as The Maxillo Facial Department’s Research award for her study on Rhinocerebral Mucomycosis in a Ketoacidotic Diabetic.

She is currently a trainer for the Restylane range of tissue fillers. She has also completed a ‘train the trainer’ masterclass with Dr Fredrik Berne, a world-renowned Swedish Plastic Surgeon. Dr Anjana has completed the the Advanced Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine with Distinction.

Dr Veruschka José-Bryant | Specialist Maxillo-Facial Surgeon

Board registered specialist Maxillo-Facial Surgeon in private practice in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is currently Principal Specialist in Maxillo-Facial Surgery at Life Fourways Private Hospital, Director of the Centre for Facial Aesthetics and Implantology, and serves on the clinical advisory board as well as on the Board of Directors of Cure Day Hospital in Fourways, Johannesburg.


She has been a postgrad and undergrad lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand, School of Health Sciences from 2005 to 2010.

Dr Brian Monaisa

Dr Brian Monaisa | Plastic Surgeon

Obtained his MBCHB at the University of Cape Town and recently completed his MMED with the University of Witwatersrand, with his research strongly focused on breast reduction – which won him the Bert Myburgh Award.


Prior to being a Fellow of the College of Plastic Surgeons, he worked in various units at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital (CHBH), including Paediatric Surgery, General Surgery, Colorectal and Endocrine units and conducted numerous plastic surgeries.


Prior to CHBH, he consulted at the North West Department of Health on HIV Prevention strategies.

Dr Nicole Kanaris | Aesthetic Doctor

Her team at Med Aesthetique mix science and beauty to achieve natural, beautiful results. With a wealth of over 10 years of experience in non- surgical facial rejuvenation, skin and body treatments, Dr K’s exceptional knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and artistic eye sets her apart from the rest.


She is a regular guest speaker on television and radio shows and has been featured in multiple online and print publications. Dr Kanaris is the South African trainer for the trademarked O-Shot and Vampire Procedures. She is passionate about regenerative medicine.


Prior to CHBH, he consulted at the North West Department of Health on HIV Prevention strategies.

Dr Shahien Dollie | Aesthetic Doctor

MD. Medical Aesthetics. Both a University of Cape Town and FPD (Pretoria) alumnus, Dr Dollie has completed multiple hands on intense focussed sessions on facial anatomy, physiology, dermatological pathology, as well as numerous masterclasses on non-surgical Aesthetic procedures ranging from PLLA suspension sutures to synthetic hair implants.


He is a co-founder and medical director at The Aesthetic Doctors in Nelspruit, South Africa. Dr Dollie enjoys local training in South Africa, attending and presenting at both local and international aesthetic conferences.

Dr Pholile Mpofu | Dermatologist

Studied at the Medical University of Southern Africa (“Medunsa”) where she read and successfully completed her medical degree. She was not content with becoming a General Medical Practitioner and subsequently registered at the College of Medicine of South Africa of which she is now a fellow, as the first Black woman Dermatologist.


She has set up her main practice at Laserderm in Morningside and Lister Building in the heart of Johannesburg while also providing pro bono medical services at the Johannesburg General Hospital.

Dr Kamlen Pillay | Reconstructive Surgeon

Specialist Plastic, Reconstructive & Hand Surgeon, based in Cape Town and Europe. He is a Fellow of the College of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons of South Africa and holds qualifications and memberships in both the USA and Europe.


Dr Pillay gained vast surgical experience in the disciplines of Orthopaedics, General & Plastic Surgery before his residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Cape Town. His passion for plastic surgery led him to the USA where he obtained his diploma in aesthetic medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr Raj Acquilla | Cosmetic Physician

Dr Ash Labib | Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon

An Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon, a leading cosmetic specialist, and the owner and founder of AL Aesthetics.

During his career as a surgeon for 24 years at the NHS, he sub specialised in Rhinology and Rhinoplasty. Over the last 5 years he co-pioneered the Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty procedure (the 15 minute nose job). Mr Labib now teaches, lectures and trains fellow injectors about the safe technique in injecting noses.

Mr Labib is also an International Ambassador for Allergen, and in this role he delivers training on advanced facial aesthetics both nationally and globally. He also takes part in clinical research and audits.

Julie Horne

Registered Nurse from Sweden, working in Norway since 2009. Julie has a bachelor’s degree in nursing and has worked as a nurse for 13 years. She has previously worked in cardiac surgery for children and adults at Rikshospitalet.


Julie is a co-owner of one of Norways most successful cosmetic clinics;  Eger Skin Clinic in Oslo, where she performs all indications within Restylane and azzalure.


Her main topic/ indication as a trainer for Galderma is lips, but she has also done trainings regarding the Restylane portfolio. She is sharing her unique and world- known lip techniques both in the Nordics as internationally. She launched her signature treatment Restylane Keyhole lips in 2017, and has since then developed a huge fan-base both amongst fellow practitioners in Norway and abroad, but also amongst customers and potential customers throughout the world.


In 2018 she participated in the LMT meeting in Uppsala with great success. She did a roadshow in Australia covering all cities there, and has done three roadshows for Galderma Nordic. She has been invited to join the Galderma Global Nurse Faculty in 2019. Julie has her own training academy at Eger Skin Clinic, teaching practitioners from all over the world within the Restylane portfolio and how she uses Restylane for lips. During 2019 she will devote more of her time training for Galderma, mainly internationally, but also in Scandinavia.

Dr Lee Walker

Dr Lee Walker is director and clinical lead at multi-award winning BCity clinics, Liverpool.

As part of his commitment to medical safety, Dr Walker is also on the expert panel for the Aesthetic Complications group UK (ACE) to provide guidance and advice on complications related to non-surgical treatments. He also sits on the expert advisory board of ‘Save Face’ a United


Kingdom professional standards registered body responsible for setting industry safety recommendations.


Dr Lee Walker is an official Teoxane country expert UK and global key opinion leader. Dr Walker sits on the United Kingdom Teoxane steering committee to advise on Medical Education best practices. He also is a faculty lecturer in clinical education for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow.


Dr Walker has published various expert opinions, scientific editorial and case studies to medical journals and has been appointed an official clinical contributor to the popular ‘Aesthetics’ journal.


In 2016 and 2017, Dr Lee Walker was highly commended as ‘Doctor of the Year’ for the United Kingdom for his commitment to safety in the aesthetic industry. Dr Walker has been awarded memberships to the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons in both Glasgow and England

Dr Alexander Bader

Dr Bader is an internationally renowned specialist OB&GYN and Cosmetic Gynaecologist who pioneered cosmetic vaginal surgery (CVS) in Europe. Following training and Fellowships in Los Angeles and New Jersey, USA with the most innovative surgeons in the fields of cosmetic surgery and gynaecology, Dr Bader returned to Europe and became the first doctor in the continent to practice exclusively Cosmetic Vaginal Surgery. Dr Bader is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), the American Academy of Cosmetic Gynaecologists (AAOCG), and the International Society of Cosmetogynecology (ISG).


He is regularly invited to lecture and teach at international meetings in cosmetic surgery. His exclusive involvement with reconstructive and cosmetic vaginal surgery for the last decade affords him the opportunity to deal with a large volume of interesting and complex cases on a daily basis. Prof Frank Graewe

Professor Frank Graewe received his medical degree in Pretoria, South Africa in 1993 and specialized in Plastic Surgery at Stellenbosch University. As a young specialist he completed several fellowships in craniofacial and aesthetic surgery in Paris, France, and Dallas, USA. He then worked in the plastic surgery and craniofacial unit in Munich in Germany where he completed his dissertation on the management of cloverleaf skull. He worked as a plastic surgeon in private practice in Munich since 2004 and in 2006 he followed the calling to return to South Africa, where he was appointed chairman of the plastic surgery division at Stellenbosch University. His main fields of interest have been cosmetic surgery and craniofacial surgery until then. On his return to Cape Town Professor Graewe got involved in a busy breast clinic diagnosing and treating breast cancer. Since then he developed the division of Plastic Surgery into a centre of excellence for breast reconstruction based on a combined multidisciplinary platform and to a leading centre in microsurgery and free tissue transfer. This culminated in his integral role in the world’s first successful penile transplant that was performed at Tygerberg Hospital in December 2014. Professor Graewe frequently performs autologous fat transplantations and is a pioneer in the application of adipose derived stem cells in plastic surgery in the new and exciting field of regenerative surgery. In 2016 he decided to take up new challenges in an international career and to devote more time developing a private plastic surgery centre. He is still attached to the Division of Plastic Surgery at Stellenbosch University as an extraordinary Associate Professor and at the craniofacial unit at Tygerberg Hospital as a part-time pro bono consultant.


His philosophy follows a modern and holistic approach in aesthetic surgery and aesthetic medicine, all aimed to create and preserve an attractive and youthful look with the goal to improve his patients self-esteem, health and wellbeing. He believes in state of the art cosmetic and reconstructive procedures combined with effective non-surgical cosmetic treatments including the latest developments in regenerative medicine which is sometimes coined as the next revolution in Medicine.

Dr Tim

Dr Eubulus Timothy

Dr Eubulus Timothy is a qualified dental surgeon with two Post Graduate Diplomas, one in Implantology and another in Aesthetics, both from the University of the Western Cape. He now lectures at the University of the Western Cape in use of neuromodulators and dermal filler for facial aesthetics for their post-graduate program.


Dr Timothy has a diploma in Marketing Management and a Diploma in Journalism from London. He is a member of the South African Associations of Cosmetic Doctors, Aesthetics and Anti-Aging Society of South Africa, World Society Interdisciplinary Anti-aging Medicine and the South African Association of Aesthetic Dentists.


Dr Timothy recently returned from a seven-year sabbatical in Los Angeles. He has a practice called Smile Spa in Musgrave, Durban with a particular focus on facial and dental aesthetics. He is an active member of the Laser Society of the South African Dental Association and a member of the KZN executive committee and is the chairperson of the Manipal University Alumni in South Africa. Dr Timothy is a past student president of the College of Dentistry, Manipal. An international speaker, he recently founded Facial Aesthetics Dentists.

Dr Vernon Ching

Dr Vernon Ching is the founder and director of Precision Aesthetics. He is a specialist plastic and cosmetic surgeon, based at the Waterfall City Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa. Dr Ching graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) and completed his internship at Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto the following year. In 1990 he completed a Senior House Officer training post at the Johannesburg General Hospital, which included ICU, Paediatric Surgery, Urology and Trauma. In 1991, at the Helen Joseph Hospital, he commenced with a General Surgery Registrar post as a prerequisite to entering the Plastic Surgery Rotation at WITS in 1992.


After completing his Plastic Surgery Rotation in 1995, Dr Ching passed the Fellowship Exams of the College of Medicine of South Africa and was registered as a Specialist Plastic Surgeon with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa). He was soon appointed Head of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Baragwaneth Hospital in 1996 and subsequently became Head of Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at WITS from 1997 until 1998.


In 1999, Dr Ching opted to leave WITS to commence with Private Practice. He has sought to stay abreast of surgical and technological innovations, in line with his philosophy of providing patients with holistic aesthetic and wellness solutions. Dr Ching has incorporated a host of in-office, non-invasive cutting-edge facial and body treatments to complement and enhance surgical results by incorporating the newest technologies and techniques.

Dr Minoka Nadesan

Dr Minoka Nadesan graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Degree (MBchB) in 2004, from the Walter Sisulu University in the Eastern Cape and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in 2009 from the Management College of Southern Africa. Throughout her childhood and schooling career it became very evident that her career path would be in the medical field . Her passion and fascination with the human body grew stronger as she volunteered at various hospitals and hospices throughout high school.


Dr Nadesans’ internship which was best served at Addington Hospital in 2004 which gave her great insight into each of the medical faculties. She believes that the training at Addington hospital definitely sharpened her clinical and trauma management skills and paved the way for further studies. During the training Dr Nadesan completed many courses that assisted her in managing patients holistically namely ACLS, BLS, Forensic Medicine ,Medical Law, Ethics and Emergency medicine and HIV/AIDS Clinical Management Program.
Working in many rural areas as a senior medical officer from 2006, made Dr Nadesan realise a desire to pursue a career in healthcare management. That training led her to enroll for her MBA.


Dr Nadesan prides herself in trying to learn latest techniques and provides patients with a holistic approach to facial contouring. She believes that physicians with a special interest in aesthetics have the knowledge and skills to perform non-surgical cosmetic procedures effectively with less down time and obtain results often better than surgery.

Dr Thys Pienaar

Dr Catherine Davies

Dr Davies is a medical doctor with a special interest in hair restoration and regenerative medicine with over twelve years of experience in FUE hair transplant surgery. She has a passion for working with hair loss patients and patients in need of reconstructive hair surgery. She frequently lectures and trains on medical procedures in South Africa and Miami, USA. She has an MBA from Henley and has recently produced an International TV show, Outpatients. Her passion is to drive social change through use of media.


She currently serves on the board of Campaigning for Cancer, Brand Quantum and AAMSSA and a proudly supports Project Restore. She has a passion for improving the lives of children in Africa.


Dr Noufal Raboobee

Dr Noufal Raboobee is an examiner for the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa, Faculty of Dermatology and was a senior lecturer as the University of KwaZulu-Natal until 2014. He is presently the president of the Vitiligo Society of South Africa and a member of the International Vitiligo Working Group. His special interests include phototherapy, skin cancers, laser and surgical treatment of the vitiligo and biologic treatment of psoriasis.

Dr Fredrik Berne

Fredrik Berne MD Specialist in Surgery and Breast surgery specializing in aesthetic surgery since 2004. Founder and co-owner of Klinik34 one of the first clinics in the world specializing and evolving Minimal Invasive Plastic Surgery. He has been invited as speaker to many aesthetic surgical meetings and is known for his new methods in body and facial contouring with autologous fat and hyaluronic acid. He is part of multiple advisory boards both European, Asian and International within Botulinum Toxines HA-fillers and breast implants. Member of the Swedish Association for Breast Surgery.

Dr Ridwan Mia

Dr Mia is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon from Johannesburg. He matriculated at the Marist Brothers’ Sacred Heart College, and then graduated as a doctor from the University of Witwatersrand in 1999.


Dr Mia Specialised in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand and holds a fellowship with the College of Plastic Surgeons of South Africa.


He is a member of the Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of South Africa. He is a previous winner of the best research paper at the congress of plastic surgeons for research done on collagen and wound healing, as well as a prize winner at the Burt Myburg surgical research forum at Wits University.
Dr Mia was a consultant at Wits University medical school, teaching plastic surgery before moving to private practice at the Mediclinic Sandton and Sunninghill Hospitals.


In addition to aesthetic surgery, he has a keen interest in hand surgery, post cancer reconstructive surgery, cleft lip and palate surgery as well as the management of burn injuries.


He is a trustee on the burns charity Children of Fire and an active member of the Smile foundation which operates on young children with facial and hand deformities. Dr Mia is also well known for his charitable and philanthropic work and is a patron of the World Memon Organisation, a social and community charity, in addition to being the brand ambassador of Project Distinction, a school learner incentive programme.
He is inspired and motivated by his parents who he sees as close friends with much wisdom to share.


Dr Mia was awarded the National Order of the Baobab in April 2013 by the President of South Africa after he made world headlines for a ground breaking procedure done on a young child where skin was cloned to cover her extensive burn wounds.

He regularly delivers lectures and talks to corporate, social and career guidance groups, including schools and universities regarding life experience, motivation, social and health issues. He has much experience in advising, coordinating and judging of cultural, beauty and fashion related events. Dr Mia has recently been recruited to join the Champion South Africa
movement that is seen as an enlightening and motivating force for fellow South Africans to harness their strengths for an improved and more cohesive society.

Dr Heidi Frere

Dr Heidi Frere qualified in 1995 at the University of KZN. She is the proud owner of Best You Medical Wellness and Aesthetics, in Bryanston. Dr Frere has found her true passion in the integration of Aesthetic, Lifestyle and Functional Medicine in her practice. Dr Frere completed an Advanced Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine at the end of 2017. She is currently enrolled with the School of Applied Functional Medicine in the USA and has completed several courses in Integrative and Functional Medicine. Dr Frere believes in staying current and relevant in her knowledge and attends conferences diligently, in all areas of interest as to give her patients the highest standard of care.

Ayesha Rajah

Ayesha Rajah is a somatologist who has been involved in the spa and skincare industry for over 20 years. She is the owner of Urban Bliss Wellness Spa in Emmarentia, previously owning and managing Aspira Aesthetic Spa in Hyde Park Shopping centre for 15 years.


Now managing director of A&I Importers, she facilitates training for 3 skincare brands namely, Phytomer, PRIORI and Skin Doctors.  Her 3-year national diploma in Somatology from the University of Johannesburg was subsequently enhanced by several other courses to keep her up to date with the latest technology. Ayesha specialises in skincare treatments primarily challenging skin conditions such as acne, pigmentation etc.


She has a diploma in Blogging & Content Marketing and is a contributing writer for various publications and hosts business conferences for Professional Beauty around the country. This has led to Ayesha’s new venture, Social Medi8 which is a Social Media Marketing and Management company focused on the professional beauty industry.


In the last 6 months Ayesha has conceptualised a new consumer-based website called Beauty Warriors, which is like a TripAdvisor site for all things professional beauty related, on behalf of Media Inkorporated.


Her new focus is on empowerment and Ayesha is partaking in the Global Mentorship Programme as a mentor for the professional skincare industry.
